Kendra is the owner and lead therapist of Wonder Therapy. While studying Therapeutic Recreation at UW-La Crosse, she fell in love with adaptive fitness, pediatric therapy, and the amazing clients she worked with. She decided she wanted to help kids discover their own unique sense of wonder and confidence as they worked towards their goals- so, she pursued a career as an occupational therapist (OT). With her master’s degree and OT license in her tool belt, she has been providing services to children of all ages since 2019.
Kendra likes to be on the move; when she isn’t working with Wonder Therapy clients, she travels across the country with On The Fly DMI. Working as a DMI OT is a physically demanding job- she stays conditioned for all the heavy lifting by training for triathlons with her friends in her spare time. Her favorite triathlon teammate, best friend, and biggest supporter is her brother, Matthew.
In her spare time, Kendra loves puzzling, eating ice cream, playing sports in the park, and watching classic early 2000’s cinema like “She’s the Man”. Athleisure is important to her- she loves shoes, and matching PJs with people she loves.
We believe that all people are incredibly valuable, and should have access to high value therapeutic care - no matter what. We’re in awe of our kids, and we love to watch them grow!
We believe that every child has been created with uniqueness that should be celebrated -- that’s why we design individualized treatment plans to help your child reach their highest potential by building on their strengths.
Our goal is lasting progress. We want your child to have confidence that empowers them to keep moving forward. We play the long game, providing top-notch care with the future in mind- so your child can keep reaching new heights for years to come.
We’re all about rolling with the punches (sometimes literally). We know what it means to be a family with a child with a disability. That’s why we bring therapy right to your door, and do what we can to eliminate cost barriers.
This is Kendra’s brother, Matthew.
Finding affordable and accessible therapy was almost impossible in the small Wisconsin town where Kendra and Matthew grew up. Matthew has a rare seizure disorder that has led to countless hospitalizations and surgeries. Despite the obstacles, Matthew repeatedly defies the odds, perseveres, and rehabilitates again, and again.
When Kendra thinks of Matthew, she is filled with wonder and amazement at the goodness of God and the resiliency of her sweet brother. Everyone who knows Matthew can see his radiant joy despite everything he has endured.
Through the years, Kendra and her family have seen the impact that good therapy can have- but they’ve consistently had to fight through barriers (cost, location, “prognosis”) to get it.
Wonder Therapy exists to bring excellent therapy, and ultimately improved quality of life to the people who need it most…
… people just like Matthew.
